Two dead in plane crash in Panama

A small plane crashed Saturday near the airport in a town west of Panama City, killing its two occupants, one U.S. citizen. The accident occurred before sunset in the village of Chame, about 90 kilometers west of the capital, told the media the commissioner of the National Police in that area, Rigoberto Dominguez. The police official said the pilot was American and the other occupant of Panama.

Dominguez explained that a phone call to the police station in the area of ​​the explosion alerted the Panamanian registered aircraft, which according to early reports from the airport took off Chame. Firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident, the causes are unknown.
